Transfer Credit Policy
BCSHA may, but shall not be required to, grant credit for prior education and training. Credit for any transfer shall be reviewed as followed:
• Student must provide any and all documentation at students sole expense, which may involve having schools send, under separate cover, a copy of the student’s transcript;
• All course work shall have been acquired at a state licensed or registered school recognized by the NM Massage Therapy Board.
• In no event shall the total credit granted exceed more than 50% of the total program hours required by BCSHA for completion of the program not including clinical practicum.
• Courses transferred shall parallel in content and intensity the courses presently offered by BCSHA.
• Students will be required to submit transfer transcripts to the New Mexico Massage Therapy Board who will determine the acceptability of transfer credits and any additional courses required toward graduation from BCSHA.
Partial Training policy
Students with previous massage therapy education may be able to complete class hours at BCSHA for credit towards state licensure.
• BCSHA may require a written, oral and/or practical examination to determine the proficiency of the student in the subject matter for which credit is being requested.
• Review of documentation or testing for the purposes of granting academic credit for prior learning will incur a non-refundable administrative review fee of $250.00.
• Accumulated “continuing education” does not qualify for the granting of academic credit for prior training.
Readmission Policy
Students who wish to be readmitted to the program which was terminated through a Leave of Absence must write a letter to the School Director. After review, by the faculty and Director a decision will be made and an official letter will be sent to the student.
